This is not a thought from today… please forgive me. I am too confused at this moment to think and communicate, so I am going to share an old thought.
About four years ago, I was filling out a questionnaire for a business networking group. One of the questions was: How do you define success? Here was my answer…
- How do you define success?
- “A man who has unreasonable expectations of himself… is a man without a reason. If he creates a life with clear goals and objectives; he can achieve genuine purpose and add real value to his life and to those that he touches.”
- “A man who has unreasonable expectations of the world… is a man confined by his own blindness. If he accepts the world and those within it; his view will be filled with bright light and infinite beauty and love.”
I have kept a copy of this answer posted in my office ever since. I guess that I thought it was a pretty good answer. However, I don’t really revisit it.
I am not going to take any time to contemplate my old answer at this time. I think that my answer would be modified if I were to address it with my current perspectives and insights. I am evolving and so is my perspective. But, I am not going to mess with it… I am going to let it stand as it is. I like that I have something that represents my mind at a given point in time.
So… why am I sharing this thought with you? I believe that sometimes we are compelled to do things to raise a question to ourselves. The ‘why’ we do things is not a prerequisite to the action. I have a feeling that I need to present this question and it’s four year old answer to myself. If I come to understand why… I will let you know.
Otherwise, i am just sharing…
